BLITZKRIEG
“Mr. Vuga, please contact the German lady ambassador. They have been asking about you, because they too would need something like that” – said a charming PR manageress during our joint visit to the Slovenian Chamber of Commerce (GZS – Gospodarska zbornica Slovenije) this summer. Knowing the skills of illusionism, media pressing, and hyper-ambition of Juraj Sadar and Boštjan Vuga, I thought for a moment that I,as well, “have fallen victim” of their perfect timing, or it has been just a coincidence… In either case, let us take a look at what it means “to need something like that” and how the architects Sadar and Vuga, over a period of only three years of their office existence, in an unprecedented blitzkrieg have won almost all the major competitions in Slovenia, ravaged the national and foreign media, designed two big houses and a couple of interiors, and by organising the office and using a total strategy imposed new forms in practising architecture, and have risen to the status of best newcomers of the Central European architecture.
